Getting Started with Sustainability Reporting: VSME and Practical Next Steps – Virtual Conference
What is this session about?
Sustainability reporting expectations are evolving quickly across Ireland’s built environment sector. While only a subset of organisations will be directly required to report under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), many more companies are already feeling the knock-on effects through customer and supply chain requests for clearer sustainability information.
This virtual conference will focus on the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for non-listed SMEs (VSME) as a practical starting point for the majority of organisations, with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and CSRD providing helpful context. The session will explore what good early-stage reporting readiness looks like — including governance, ownership, consistency of information, and how suppliers and buyers can reduce duplication by aligning around clearer reporting approaches.
The conference will also highlight the wider ecosystem of supports available to help companies get started, and will include perspectives from organisations and supply chains working through these changes in practice.
