What is this session about?

This workshop introduces the basis and basics of carbon accounting, including the concepts of consolidation approaches, scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and the differences between them.  

Participants will gain insight into how their organisation can start thinking about reporting and reducing their own, and their supply chain's carbon emissions. This workshop includes an interactive activity to reinforce the understanding of key carbon concepts.

What will I achieve?

This workshop will provide participants with:

  • An understanding of the concept of ‘scopes’ – sources of carbon and the GHG Protocol
  • Guidance on setting Organisational Boundaries
  • Guidance on Setting Operational Scopes for carbon 
  • Insight on why we need them for reporting
